China Trip Update: Wednesday in Nanjing
Wednesday was a sightseeing day for us. We saw all of the major things that Nanjing is known for.
We visited the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Museum. Its a very well done Museum in honor of the sacrifice, heroism, and great loss experienced in the events that happened in Nanjing years ago.
We also visited the Cloud Brocade Living Museum where they still make embroidery w/ elaborate 2 person looms. It takes 2 people working eight hours to finish...

China Trip Update: Hope is Ours!
Today was our Appointment at the Civil Affairs Office. I was a little nervous about how Hope would do with us going back to the same place we were yesterday. I knew that there would be people there from the orphanage again, and I was afraid that it would upset her again.
Today's meeting was to sign the Adoption Decree.
She did fine going in to the room. There was an older lady there from the orphanage today. This lady is in charge of adoptions...

Violin Blog - Part 2
Ok, let's talk about the violin a little before the videos start. I think playing the violin is one thing, but playing the violin in worship is something a little different. China Trip Update: We Have Our Hope!
Today was a very emotional day for all of us. When they handed Hope to us, she was sad, scared, tearful, and overwhelmed. That's actually a good sign though. We were not deterred. Her little cry was so sad and pitiful. We sang Jesus Loves Me to her and she calmed down.
The orphanage staff that came, said that she is very shy and very clever. And that by Chinese standards she is considered very beautiful.

China Trip Update: Maria's Big House of Hope
Today we visited Maria's Big House of Hope (MBHOH). It is a 7story bldg in Luoyang. I twittered a picture of it earlier today(while you were prob sleeping). Its is painted sky blue w/clouds all over it. The story goes that when the painting of the bldg was approved it was to be a single white cloud at the top as a logo. Turns out the painter didn't have a complete understanding of the expectation and the building is covered in clouds. In...

China Trip Update: We Made It!
Its been a good trip so far. We have landed in Luoyang and are headed to Maria's Big House of Hope. Traveling with MaryBeth Chapman and her daughter Emily and Emily's husband, Tanner, and a friend, David Trask.
Tomorrow we go to Nanjing and on Monday we meet Hope. Yay! Can't wait!
