Crowns is on Carrie Underwood's iTunes Playlist

"Praise You in This Storm" is on Carrie Underwood's most recent iTunes playlist that is being featured alongside her album.

She enjoys "Praise You in This Storm" because she says, "There are times in everyone's lives where things aren't so good and it becomes easier to blame our problems on others. This song reminds us to praise God even in the worst of times, and we'll get through because He is always with us."

Carrie is indeed one of a kind and she is still very sweet, down to earth yet mature and more confident and keeps getting better and better. She will be heading down to US next. I’m sure that Carrie Underwood Tickets will be a sell-out too! coz she has been a good ambassador of country music and remains true to herself.

This was my first Christian concert as a new man to the Christian faith. I took my 14 year old daughter and I think I got more out of this show than she did. I was floored and brought to tears by the songs, the words, the energy of the crowd and the commitment of the band members.

Wow how incredibly judgmental....jesus said he who is without sin cast the first stone....15

These comments are incredibly judgmental. Who are we to say that Carrie Underwood is less of a Christian or isn't a true Christian?? I am sure that if you and I take closer looks at our lives that we will find our own little "imperfections". Jesus sees all sin as equal! No sin is worse than the other. Do not look down on another person and judge what they are doing. The Bible says the "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". Jesus taught us to love and show the love of Jesus Christ. Being judges of lives is not our place, only Jesus can do that.

And I believe that we should at this as an incredible way that Casting Crowns is able to reach the secular music world. Congratulations Casting Crowns.

Of course we should offer our work to believers and unbelievers.  However, here on your site, you seem to be saying "WOW, even Carrie Underwood listens to our music".  Is Carrie Underwood more special than any of your fans?  Hopefully she is not more precious to you because of her celebrity.

Wow, saw CC in Hershey last night. So disappointed that you feel it's "newsworthy" that Carrie Underwood has you on her playlist of songs & that you dedicated space to that here on your page.  Why are you holding her up here?  Let's not put her down.  Let's not hold her up.  Let's just stay focused on JESUS.  So disappointed, yet again.  Carrie Underwood has offered herself to the world, on "their" terms.  We offer ourselves to the Lord, right?

I have both of Carrie Underwoods CD"s that I used to listen to all the time but as I drew closer to God I only wanted to listen to music that praises God. Casting Crowns has been a real insperation to me I love their music I love the Lord with all mY heart and want to please only him. that's good that Carrie wants to listen to Casting Crowns but she is still part of the world you can tell by her dress just today I saw here on the cover of cosmpolition magazine in a very tight revealing dress. That has worldly all over it we are suppossed to be different from the world just look at Kirk Cameron

Amen I glad someone else thinks that Christians should be Holy

An amusing bunch of responses. It's always nice to see others appreciate our accomplishments or work. But to compare Carrie Underwood with CC is amusing indeed. I am very sure God smiles at every song CC has recorded or sung. As for Carrie, God does not smile at anything that does not bring glory to him. Many of her songs are NOT in any way glorifying to God.

I bet that Paul did not make tents ONLY for believers.  This would not have been all things to all people.  Being a professional musician (and I speak from experience here) is still a profession. Many people who do not make their living in the field do not understand this.  What ever service you provide in your profession, do you provide it solely to Christians? Or do you do your job and by your conduct and character show Christ to the world?

After she tasted success, Carrie gave up on true country music and sold out for the money.  I'm ok with trying expand you're music but she doesnt have her own voice (which is a beautiful gift).  She adapts to what sells.  And she thinks stating having "Crowns" on her playlist will give her audience.  I know I sound like I'm judging but seriously, it breaks my heart that she isnt what she apprears.  Just be truthful and sell pop and she'd still be successful.  Her songwriting isnt what I want to listen too.  The songs that her producers pick (like Jesus take the wheel) are great choices but they arent hers and that makes me upset that she doesnt want to write songs similar.  To each his own, for me and my family, I wont spend a single penny on her.  I'd rather spend my money on groups like CC that are worth listening too.

No doubt that Carrie Underwood finds inspiration, truly from God, by listening to Casting Crowns....the real question of interest to me, anyway, is do the members of Casting Crowns find the same level of inspiration from Carrie Underwood's music???

Well, I just wanted to give my 2cents worth.....

I think Carrie is a beautiful girl with so much talent.  I believe that she is somewhat confused and has "lost her way".  She's still pretty young with much fame that just dropped on her lap and is trying to figure out what to do with it and how to honor God with her life.  That being said, I will not promote her career, play her music or watch her videos at my house.  I have four children, boys and girls and the topics of some of her songs are not God honoring.  It is very clear to me that her way of dressing is provocative and this is not an example that I want for my daughter.  Neither will I put the stumbling block of a women dressed provocatively in front of my almost teenaged boys.  THe world has enough of that without Christians feeding us the same worldliness.  The whole concept of "playing a character" in her songs, as she has stated that she is doing when the lyrics are not honoring to God, is a cop-out.  Would it be okay for me to say that I'm playing the "role" of an adulteress so that I can go and sleep with my neighbour? I don't buy it.  There's a scripture (sorry, can't think of the reference right now!) that states that what comes out of your mouth is what's in your heart...

I think that as Carrie grows in her faith, she will have to answer some serious questions about how she lives her life - as we all do.  Most of us have less at stake than she does.  This will probably be really difficult as she will come under much scrutiny and probably drop in popularity.  She was quoted as saying to "look at her life" as evidence of there being a God - that she didn't know what she was going to do with her life but that now her life is "perfect" because it is God ordained.  May I challenge miss underwood to pursue God completely - a life of sacrifice, faith and devotion, honoring him in EVERY aspect - and see where He will take you...actually, I challenge myself and all other believers to this kind of faith and devotion.  It really is the way that we all will find any kind of fulfillment....

in His love......

I believe that Carrie Underwood is a child of God and you all shouldn't be judging her. Listen to her songs "Temporary Home" "Jesus Take The Wheel" "So Small" "Don't Forget To Remember Me" etc.

Carrie has always said that she just plays a character in her sassy songs (Before He Cheats, Last Name) and that she would never actually do those things.  She needs some fast songs because when people go to country concerts they expect to be able to dance along! :)

I am a Christian and a big fan of Carrie's because her music has really helped get me through tough times. Jesus Take The Wheel inspired me to call out to the Lord and let Him into my life. I truly believe that she loves the Lord with all her heart and I am deeply saddened that some of you avoid her music just because of two songs.

And lastly, the thing about her moving in with her boyfriend was a rumor.  She said on the Ellen show that she will never live with a boyfriend before marriage.  She is now engaged to a big Christian, Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators. If you're curious, visit his website...He has his testimony there.

I found this song to very helpful when my son died last January. The word of God and the spirit of praise and worship are the only things that helped me endure the tradegy I faced. I praise God that he has blessed this ministry with songs of praise, worship and all around things to think about how we live for our wonderful Saviour. I held on to the words of this song like glue to help me get through each day and I still do. It is coming up on a year and as long as Gospel music finds a place in peoples hearts and souls the word of God prevails. I just want to be who God wants me to be, not what others want. And he has his own way of bringing us to that. Love tears down walls and builds bridges not criticism.

that is so cool

Amen!!!

ountry music came out of gospel and is closly related with christian music and most country artists are christians and its not bad to be secular artists, its like being in a job thats not a pastor, just because she is not in christian music doesnt mean anything

Holy Spirit fed, Holy Spirit led. That is up to her to ask The Holy Spirit to guide her.

A person must be grounded in the Word Of Jesus before they go out into the world. It is like a fruit tree when it is first planted. If it is not planted into the ground correctly, not nutured, watered, or no light hitting it, the roots won't grow and it will produce rotten or no fruit at at.

Just because you are 16 don't sell yourself short...Man, read your Bible and check out the ages of David,Daniel, and others. Keep your slingshot out and speak His Truth....

Amen and Amen, again. Jesus' Word  NEVER returns void. It cuts like a two-edged sword.....

It is possible to sing other genre's of music if you are a Christian but it is not beneficial. Jesus says, Be in this world, not of this world. Do not do as the world does. Carrie Underwood, and others who proclaim to be Christians are in this world and of this world. A double minded person is unstable in all their ways. She is in for a big fall...Jesus will shake what has to be shaken. Jesus says, Be Holy as I am Holy.

Wow. Judgemental and hurtful statements like those made here about a person no one knows personally are why the world is turned off by Christians. As a group, we are seen as self rightous and intolerant. Which unfortunatly is what many of the comments on here confirm. And what good are we if we stay in our Christians circle and do not mingle with the world in "secular" careers, schools and other institutions. We are commanded to be salt and light. Carrie Underwood has a wondferul oppurtunity to stand for God and it seems she understands this as she has publicly spoken and written about His work in her life many times. It IS possible to be a Christian and sing another genre of music aside from contempory christian/gospel.

Dont believe everything you hear, in other words don't judge. It's not your place, besides she was asked on tv if there was truth to the rumor and she said no it definately wasn't true.  She wasn't sure where the rumor came from.

Appearances influence. Is it okay to say, "if that person can do it, sends the message, all can?" Who then is putting up a stumbling block?
Opinion! How shallow? Do you turn a blind eye to what is an appearance of evil?
1Jn 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth
1Jn 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
1Jn 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
Let us not apostatize.
Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Heb 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Heb 10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

You are obligated to speak the truth to your friend, since you know her personally. What kind of message do you want to send, ? Live and Let Live? LOL!!!

But you, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand befoe the judgment seat of God. For it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, Every Knee Shall Bow To Me, And Every Tongue Shall Give Praise To God." So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this, not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way. (Rom. 14: 10-13)

Friend, you're entitled to your opinion regarding what is an appearance of evil. But I concur with what Scripture teaches, "Do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil." (Rom. 14: 16)

"So pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another." (Rom. 14: 19)

1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Gal 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Mat 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Mat 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Mat 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
Mat 7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

ALL APPEARANCE OF EVIL or is that too harsh for you.

Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother or sisters eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, let me take the speck out of your eye; and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." (Matt. 7: 1-5)

Stop reading the tabloids! Carrie is not moving in with her boyfriend. Most Christians work in secular industries, to criticize someone because they work in a secular industry like Country music is crazy. It's "How You Live" your life that reveals someone's heart commitment to God! I know personally that Carrie lives a life of holiness to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Hopefully as members of the Body of Christ we can draw a circle around ourselves, look inward to allow God to show us area's in our lives where we have fallen short instead of pointing the finger of blame at others.

"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13: 35)

Amen to all of what you said. Especially the part about being on display, and why should others judge when we have no idea how God is working in their lives.

Unfortunately she is moving in with her boyfriend...look you can't lay claim to being a Christian when you are a Cultural Christian or C.I.N.O.=Christian In Name Only. Either be hot or cold but not lukewarm. Cannot worship mammon and Christ at the same time. One foot in the world and the other in... well you get the point.

when you put yourself in the spotlight as a Christian of course people are going to watch. To the rest of the world you are a spotlight representative of Christ. Therefore we have to be committed to Jesus! Our message should be the message of Christ, and it should always bring glory to God! Carrie has such a beautiful talent but her songs are not bringing God the glory--not all of them. This is the case with many singers and famous entertainers. It's not about us, it's about God! It's all about bringing him the glory, and as the scripture says,

1 Corinthians 10:31
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

So as i look at myself, as I look at Ms. Underwood i must examine and ask, "Are these words bringing Glory to God? Are all her songs bringing glory to God?"

I question her no more than i would question myself. But we have to be about our Father's business!

I hope this song...and the members of Casting Crowns can lead Ms. Underwood to completely devote her musical talents to God, so all her songs may be about praising God! Amen!

yeah I see your point. "do not judge lest you be judged in the same light." To be honest... I would fall short as Carrie falls short. "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". Who are we to say we are better than anyone else.

Hi!
It's great that Casting Crowns is on Carrie's playlist, but I also am not a fan of Carrie Underwood. It's not my place to judge whether or not Carrie is a Christian, in fact, it's not even my place to judge Carrie at all! But, in making a descision on whether or not I should listen to Carrie Underwood's music, I have to keep in mind what her motives are. When I look at ministries like Casting Crowns, I don't see a worldly spirit, and when I listen to their music, I don't hear worldly ideas being presented in Christian-compatible ways. I always hear a true Gospel message ring out from their music, a message that gives caution to those that are prideful, and a message that brings the grace and truth of Jesus Christ to the humble. I also see a message that comforts those in need, and brings peace to the broken hearted. When I look at people like Carrie Underwood, I don't really see that. What I see is confusion. Some Christian ideas, but then some utterly un-Christian ideas dressed up so that Christians will accept them. I'm not going to bash Carrie Underwood, she is a child of God just like I, and she makes mistakes just like I do, but I will say that she has seemed to stray. Her idea of the Gospel message seems confusing to me. It looks like she is really trying to sell out to everybody, (in my opinion) it seems as though she is willing to make comprimises to her faith so that she can produce a secular-type song and sell out. I don't appreciate the way she dresses, it seems to me that she is trying to bring attention to herself. I know that I sound like I'm coming down hard on her, but I'm not. I am not The Perfect Judge, and I don't have any buisness making judgement calls (especially since I'm only 16! LOL), but I DO need to decide whether or not Carrie Underwood will make it to MY iTunes album lists, and when I do so, I have to think about these things.(as expressed before) I do not feel it is OK for me to listen to her. Besides, who needs Carrie Underwood when they have Casting Crowns!!!!!

Cannot wait for that new album to hit the stores!!!
Parick Coffey (www.patrickcoffeymusic.com)

Boy, am ever I glad I'm not in the spotlight so my failures can't be scrutinized or what? When all of us line our lives up against the holiness of God, we all will come up short. (Even Mark Hall and Carrie Underwood!) It's what grace is all about.

I believe Carrie makes strides to live for God. She loves her family and she loves her friends and given the amount of fame she has, she's not in tabloids as often as others who claim Christ yet don't live it.

If you listen to her new album, she wrote a beautiful song called "Temporary Home" which was inspired by a Purpose-Drive Bible study she recently did with her boyfriend. She's made trips to Africa and she's given of her time and resources to help AIDS orphans. Her version of "I'll Stand By You" is one of the most heart-wrenching Gospel-filled songs I've ever heard.

For every song that her record label has released that will make THEM more money, she has songs about perseverance and looking towards God that never get heard by anyone but those who've bought her albums.

Her life is more than just those two songs on the radio you've mentioned and the handful of photos you've seen. Be glad your life isn't on display so you can be judged and ridiculed for not appearing to love God.

I and my family are also very disapointed in Carrie Underwood. I voted for her because I thought we had a good role model on our hands. Started out the right way but look what we have just another secular recording artist in hot pants. What a disgrace to the example of Jesus Christ. When I see Casting Crowns I see and hear Jesus Chirst from the music. Just because you speak out the name of Jesus doesnt mean you are lining up your life with his character. Jesus said. "This is the will of my father that you bear much fruit". I don't see Carrie Underwood protraying a Godly character. Infact If we are all truthful about ourselves she is changing her image to look more like the world everytime she is seen on tv, magazines, albums etc. I have hope for her but at this point hear me Carrie you have somethings to answer to before God! This is tuff love speaking.

I think that Carrie Underwood has a good heart she is just trying to please EVERYONE and she is focusing on the wrong people. Like Mark said at the concert, "at the end of the day, it's just you and Jesus." Hopefully soon she will figure that out and refocus her music in a better direction. Then I will start listening again!

yeah I understand how you feel. she started with God and I'm just wondering where he is going with her.

While I can understand that the "Crowns" are excited to be a part of Carrie Underwoods playlist, I decided last year that Ms. Underwood would no longer be a part of my families listening favorites. With songs like "I don't even know his last name" and " Before He Cheats", I decided that I wanted my children listening to more Positive Encouraging Music. Although I think that she and her voice are beautiful! I just wish that she knew the impact her words have on others. I was at the Raleigh concert last night, Nov 5. Way to push through Mark! I hope you are feeling better! Our prayers are with all of you.
God Bless.
