Heeeere's Cohen!

So, this past Tuesday morning, February 24, Christy had a doctor's appointment. Cohen was due on Tuesday of next week, March 3, so we were expecting the doctor to say that Christy was dilated a little. Which she did. She said Christy was dilated 2 cm. and everything looks good see you next week. Then we came home and Christy started to feel bad. Being her first child, she wasn't sure what a contraction was. She would say, "I feel weird". Being my first child, I had our bags packed and in the car. Christy's mom, Kathy then came over and she said we needed to time these "weird feelings". They ended up being 3 minutes apart. The 5 to 10 minutes after are a complete blur to me. All I remember was a lot of "OH MY GOSH NOT ANOTHER RED LIGHT!" and "LEARN HOW TO DRIVE!" and "IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING!". We got to the hospital and sure enough, she was 5 cm dilated. "You're going to have a baby tonight!" the doctor said. I lost it. I turned into a little girl and started sobbing. Christy was speechless. 6 hours later, Cohen was born. He was 7 lbs 14.5 ounces and 20.5 inches with lots of hair. Our world has been rocked. God gave us a healthy baby boy and yet another lesson for me on how much he loves us.

Coincidentally, according to Wally from Total Axxess, some guy named Chris Sirbintis from the band Casting Crowns had a baby boy named Cohen too! How weird is that?!? Even weirder that I have no idea who this guys is and we're in the same band. Oh well, at least he got my son's name right. Thank you guys for all your continued prayers. Christy's very tired but extremely happy. She's a great mommy. I'll see you guys soon!

Congratulations on becoming a father. A little late, but the feeling is there. I too have a son and I truly hope and pray that God blesses your family everyday with the love that being a father and mother brings. Being a father is the greatest thing I have ever experienced in my life and has helped me on my journey with Christ in understanding how God truly feels for us all.  I was fortunate enough to be able to meet you and the rest of Crowns when you played in Washington state this year. I look forward to going to more concerts, and I was huimbled by how down to earth and real you guys were, especially you and Chris.

Thank you for all you do with Casting Crowns, Hector. COngratulations on becoming a father and to your wife becoming a mother. I hope you find all the happiness and blessings that come with being a parent.
