 I'm Home!

Well, I am finally back home in chilly Thomaston, Ga after being in 90+ weather "down under"!  It was a nice little trip, but I'm glad to get back home and get back into "real life"!  Ha!

That means the dreaded word.... training....ugh.  For those of you who don't know, why I'm training (still hurts to say), check out my last blog titled "A New Endeavor" for the 411.  I'm starting to come to the realization that 60 miles is a really looooooooong distance to walk.  Hence why training (ok, a little better that time) is quite essential.  I will be walking 20 miles a day for 3 days.  So, my goal is Monday morning, bright and early-cold and all, getting out there in my neighborhood and starting my journey.  I'll most likely start walking with a mile or two, then gradually bump up the distances.  Man, I'm gonna need a good playlist on my ipod to keep me from getting bored!!
I'll keep you guys posted on my training (not so bad anymore...) hopefully everyday, even if its just a quick "Hey, I walked 3 miles today... feeling good!".

What I need from you

  • I need you guys to leave me comments saying "Go, Megan, Go!  You can do it!" to keep me inspired and motivated!  Or maybe for you exercise gurus out there, tips and advice!
  • I need you guys to leave me comments with your favorite songs that might get me pumped while I'm training (kinda liking that word now).  I'll leave a post with my final playlist for your approval!
  • And of course, financial support for my walk.  Got a long way to go still!  Thank you to all who have so graciously contributed!  But for the rest of you... JUMP IN!

Hi Megan....You go girl!!!!! My prayers are with you on your training for the BIG WALK. I have always loved Casting Crowns music.. Our precious Savior has carried me thru some pretty tough times in my life and I'm thankful to Him. Right now I am not working. I have been laid off from my job of 17 years and I also have had carcinoid cancer since 2001. God has opened my eyes to alot of things during these times. I've said all that to say this... God is so amazing and He will give you all of the strength and confidence you need to accomplish anything in your life. He says to trust and have faith in Him. His Love for us is so deep and if you trust and live for Him, there is no telling what you can accomplish through Him!!!!!  So keep walking and singing those beautiful praises to our Father in heaven-not only are we listening, He is too!!!  Philippians 4:13 says "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me"

my name is cindy. Maryanne Quick was my best friend for 24 years, and passed away last sept. 09. I miss her dearly.   she always talked so highly of you and turned me on to Casting Crowns.  I known you are a busy lady, but if you get time, and you remember Maryanne Quick, please email me at czografos@aol.com.  God bless you for your faithfulness to the Christ and the ministry and for your beautiful voice.  My most favorite song is East to West.  I just downloaded it onto my ipod from itunes.

How's it going Megan? This is L J (GMC Terrain). It was great to meet you here in Raleigh, NC this past Thursday. I'll be checking back to see how your blogging is going? With how busy things were yesterday, I understand why there aren't new blogs up - haha.

How are those shoes working out? You feeling cool and hip? haha. Concerning your blogs, you've got my interest. So, I know this is an old blog, but if you're still looking for songs to get you pumped I have one album I use in the gym. For me, I train better when I'm slightly ticked about something (meaning when something in the Church is not right that causes my fire to blaze). I'm not a big Christian Rap fan, but LeCrae's "After the Music Stops" gets me fumming about wanting to see the Church be pleasing to God and thus I get a little upset about what God's Word says about what should and should not be in the Body. LeCrae brings those points to light alot in his lyrics. Check it out sometime.

Alright...holla atcha later. Get some good rest okay and enjoy Florida!

Always after His heart,
L J
