Last Friday we left Nanjing. Hope said goodbye to her city and got on an airplane for the first time.
She actually did well with flying and wasn't afraid at all. We were blessed with First Class seats. Very thankful although the flight was supposed to be only 2hrs.(We ended up leaving an hour late.)
They brought us a meal in 1st Class style on porcelin. So much food. Our little China Doll had never seen so much food in front of her. (Pic to follow). This was the day she began to feel more comfortable around us and her 2yr old antics kicked in. Great timing, on a plane.
Not to mention, this is the same day that the green eyed monster decided to rear its ugly head. Meeka decided she didn't want any of the other kids anywhere near me, or her, and was pretty adamant about it. Thankfully the other 3kids were champs and handled it with grace and patience.
Our flight had to land at a different airport because the Guangzhou(pronounced Gwaungjo) airport was closed due to storms and flooding. That was a little unsettling since we had no idea where we were or where we would go.
About 30mins later, while we were still on the plane, we left again for Guangzhou airport which had opened up again. God definitely showed us favor. About 30mins after we landed it started storming again and they closed the airport again. A lot of the adoption families that were traveling were not so fortunate. It was a very long day and Meeka Hope was exceptionally fiesty that day, and of course sleeping on the plane was not on her list of things to do. So...
Finally we were safe and in Guangzhou. Our 2hr flight ended up a 12hour ordeal.
Its been a long time since I was that tired.
Our hotel here is very nice and I'm very thankful.
