I wanted to start a blog that will help people start or refine a praise band. I have been working with youth praise bands for a while now and one of the hardest things is to find resources and encouragement for the your band. I hope to offer up some of those things here over the next few weeks. So please check back and let me know if there are any subject matters I can touch on within this blog

Greetings out there!
This blog topic is a healthy way to share some tried-and-true resources that are available that have been used by REAL PEOPLE :)
4 years ago God blessed a vision into my heart which eventually became what is now a powerful praise & worship band that I now direct and play lead trumpet in, called TOWER of PRAISE. We're somewhat unique in that we have a full-time horn section, bringing the band to a whopping 10-11 members, which has it's own challenges. As we are not currently doing original music, this also leaves us needing arrangements to play that will not only accommodate a band of this size but the instrumentation as well, particularly the horns. So, all this to say, if anyone is in a similar situation, you MUST check out www.praisecharts.com Our library of repertoire is almost entirely made up of arrangements from this site. What's REALLY cool now is that many of the arrangements are available as Finale files, so customizing the charts even further is a snacp (IF you are a Finale user).
Ok, too much yapping...just thought I'd share something that works in hopes that someone else might find it useful as well. God bless you as you continue to use your God-given gifts to worship The King!

WOW... this is amazing that you have 10-11 members when you cant even get that many in the school orchestra or band that you teach. And for someone who is so blessing of God then why were you being investigated by DCF at that same very school that you teach. I heard you were inappropriate with some of the girls? That fits in just right with the priests that you back in your Tower of Praise Band.
Good luck to you man... you certainly need it.
Meet lots of youth who keep talking about starting a worship band but are strugling with the particulars so thank you for this blog. Maybe I could help and turn my GuitarPraise and Jamband system into a jam hall for youth night and plug in guitars. someone gave us a drum kit too.
Thank you and I look forward to reading the blog

Hola from Waukesha, WI, a suburb of Milwaukee. I came across this blog wondering what had happened to Andy Williams and figuring out who the new guy was,,,but anyways. This would b of great help to us who are actually in a praise band and who sit and wonder where it is we can go for resources and places to play. I myself am in a praise band and we have pretty much hit bottom since we hardly have places to play at,,i mean cmon a christian band? not really everyones cup of tea here in the beer state. how can we stay strong with each other and keep doing what we are doing? The one god has blessed us till now but it seems we have come to really a halt by just showing up to practice and not having any shows to showcase our talent. any advice would be of great help from how it is you guys hung in there and continue doing what it is you still do, to what other places we can play our music instead of just trying to play at other churches? Thanks to you and the the other guys and gals for putting out such great motivational music year after year. Hope me and the guys get to where you have gotten. God Bless......Rick
I was recently added as a singer into an exsisting praise/christian rock band. Our band plays at a youth group every Wednesday for around 100-200 kids. We do some other shows when the majority of the band can make it. We are all in highschool so sometimes it's hard to get practices in. Since joining I've noticed that our guys could put out an album but I don't know how to motivate the other band members. How do I try to get more practices scheduled and work that in on a busy schedule?

Hi to all. This is my S-daughter Lynsey. I would ask this as a favor after you listen to this. Please share this on your FB and ask all of your friends to share it. She wrote this song and did this at her senior recital. It is beautiful and I would like it to travel the world if possible. It is only possible with your help. Thanks please share."I Need You" by Lynsey Koles

¡Salud!
