Hey, everyone! I just wanted to touch base with you guys about my recent discoveries. I have recently happened upon the information that the Susan G. Komen Foundation financially supports Planned Parenthood, a prominent center for many womens' health services, one among those being abortion. I was even more heart broken to find out all the companies and corporations that also support them. I can't even look in my pantry or garage and not see something that has financially supported this pro-choice movement. I want to ensure you all that I am digging in and doing my research and getting all the Godly counsel I need to find out all I can about where our donated money is going.
I do believe with all my heart that Susan G. Komen foundation is a foundation that has had an incredible impact on the development of Breast Cancer research for a cure. My mom is a living testimony to that. They have given an amazing $1 billion dollars to date directly to breast cancer research.
I will most definately still participate in the walk, because I know that I and my sisters and mom could and will be a light in a dark world. We will be walking alongside women, men, gay, straight, christian, agnostic, atheist, pro-life, pro-choice, democrat, republican, etc... for one reason... to help find a cure for this disease that has touched our lives in some way. I will have many opportunities to share the gospel, my testimony, and my faith with these people. Our whole team will be decked out with scripture and pro-life on our shirts, so no one could even possibly doubt what we believe in. Our team is called "Pink Peace" because of the unexplainable peace my mom experienced through her whole ordeal with cancer. Our team motto is "We Walk to Overcome", which comes from John 16:33, "I have told you this so that you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.". These words that Jesus spoke can make such a huge impact on the lives of these people I will be in the midst of. They will have no choice but to read those words on the back of my shirt while I am walking among them for 60 miles!! Amen?
I wanted to write this quick blog to let you know that I am aware of the situation and I am diligently seeking wisdom from the Lord in how I can make an impact. Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement and your accountability in letting me know about this situation. I am very thankful!
Please stay connected with this blog, as I will be posting more important information and decisions as they are made! And please stay in prayer for me as I am continuing this journey and seeking God's face. Please begin praying for the hearts of the people my team will come in contact with. That God would begin softening their hearts to His truth and that we may win souls for Jesus! I want EVERYTHING I do to be directly in line with God's will for me. Thank you ALL for your encouragement!
"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Oh Lord."
Psalm 19:14

Hey Meg,
So, everyone who is affected in some way is talking about or concerned about the proposed Gov't-run healthcare that is being pushed through Congress. Many are however, unaware of the saturated language within the bill that supports abortions as a "healthcare choice." See www.aclj.org for more details on the battle to have this removed.
Nonetheless, my pantry was a scary sight also, looking at all the companies who use my money to support this movement of pro-choice. Bump that...pretty much every product in my house has or is supporting PP. If you're up to speed on it, what are your thoughts about the new gov't run healthcare proposal they are trying to pass?
Thank you for speaking out about this! I stand with you and your mom in the continued race. My mom overcame Sarcadosis, and everyday I am blessed to see her alive and well. They're testimonies are great and worthy of giving the Lord great praise.
Take care,
L J
I wish I had never come to your website. I liked Casting Crowns, the music, several of your songs. But seeing your posting on Susan G. Komen Foundation financially supports Planned Parenthood and it makes me so sad to read such a "SUPER CHRISTIAN Sunday School" post.
Then I read "We will be walking alongside women, men, gay, straight, christian, agnostic, atheist, pro-life, pro-choice, democrat, republican, etc... " wow, you are really putting yourself out there walking in a fund raiser, with .....people.
It is one thing to make beautiful songs, sing wonderfully, entertain. It is another to create a following and then post your super conservative views on the world. This is exactly why people in Europe where I live want nothing to do with Christianity. Christians don't love they say, they judge.
When you are walking in the mall, in your stretched out sweat pants(because your pantry is full), remember, you are walking with people, people who have different values, and what Jesus did was love them.

Loving one another does not equal being relativistic. Just because someone is my brother or sister in Christ does NOT mean that I have to agree with everything they do. Having "different" values does not make someone correct. We are called, as Christians to uphold a morality that the world does not agree with. We are in this world to grow closer to our Heavenly Father, and to help others on the journey back to Him, but we are not of this world.
Relativism is a philosophy based on a lack of all moral code. If "whatever works" is acceptable, then everything becomes acceptable. If we allow ourselves to espouse this attitude, we fall further and further from the covenants we make at baptism and are less and less able to "put on the name of Christ." Yes, Jesus loved prostitutes and tax collectors. Yes, He loves abortion doctors... but He would ask them to stop what they are doing and follow Him, so that their lives would be more abundantly joyful.
