This stuff is so great Mark. I need to realize that our world is just full of "temporary pleasures" that just ends up nowhere good fast. It is like the things of this world is saltwater. It might quench our thirst for a second, but too much of it will kill you from dehydration. Thanks a ton for the challenges... They are really helping!
Hey Mark -God used your analogy of the cup with holes in it in a couple of ways. As I'm going through another Biblestudy called "No Other Gods" it makes me see more clearly that these things/people we look to to complete us/fill us/satisfy us can truly never fill, it always comes up empty and it can be a constant drain emotionally. Only God satisfies that thirst. Also, I can pour myself into things (with holes) that don't really matter, but pouring the love of Jesus into the lives of others has no holes and is eternal. Thanks for what you're doing.
You did hit the nail on the head. I am guilty of keeping the Lord as plan b.I had been so on 'fire' for the Lord years ago, and I don't where or when, but just got so caught up in this temporary life that I took my eyes off of Him and have only been seeing the now, the temporary and not the unseen, the eternal with Him.Thank God, he is merciful, and forgiving.I kind a feel like the prodigal daughter.Thank you for doing this.I know I can get back on track.
Thank you Mark for the Devos. I am looking forward to this time set apart for God, and I am thankful for the work that you are doing for Him which is a blessing to me and others.
This camp is awesome. I am actually going to try it out. Next week is my break so it is going to be hard for me. But praise the lord and i will persevere. Watching no televison is not that hard for me but not playing games is. I am trying my best to be with GOD!!!
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!! You just "hit the nail on the head" with me and you are describing the exact issues I have been facing lately!Wow,I am so glad you are sharing Mark and thank you.It is so cool how we are connected to by and with Christ.I am doing this and I am going to make a commitment to do this once a month.Need a lot of work from Christ done in my life and all.Having a hard time letting go of the horrible past mistakes I have made.Anyway,rambling....Thank you and I am hanging with you and everybody during this.I have twitter as well.Take care.I am praying for you and your family and God bless.Stephanie GCharlotte,NC
"I follow close behind You; Your strong right hand holds me securely." Psalm 63:8 (NLT)We may not know where God is leading us, but if we stay close behind, following His lead, He will guide us to where He desires us to be.If you have ever played the game 'Follow the Leader', you know you have to follow the person in front of you to get to your destination safely. One step away from the leader, makes you going your own way. Which can cause destruction and pain, because by going your own way, you don't have a leader guiding you and protecting you from the detours and potholes in the road. The pleasures of this world distract our eyes from the path God is leading us on. Watch what your eyes see. Guard your eyes from seeing this world in a way that takes you off the path and away from God's perfect plan.During our walk, run, or sprint through this journey God is leading us on, He will never leave us. His strong hand is holding us."I AM holding you by your hand - I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, 'Do not be afraid. I AM here to help you.'" Isaiah 41:13 (NLT)Follow close behind Jesus. Don't let Him out of your sight. He knows the way, just trust in Him.
Thanks Mark, that really hit the spot. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos...there are a lot us who need it.
