I recently spent some time with Global Youth Ministry up on the mountain in north Georgia with some youth leaders at the Momentum 3 youth leaders conference that Global hosted. My time there reminded me that Global does youth ministry right! In fact, we take our youth (and youth volunteers) to Global Youth Camps every summer for that reason!

I have been a youth pastor for over 16 years now and have taken my kids to several different camps. Other camps will offer a number of speakers and many different commitments and decisions that your kids can sign a card for. By the end of the week they may walk away with no real focus for the next step. The biggest difference Global offers is that they have a point and everyone walks away understanding the point. Everything is centered on a theme. The recreation, the family group times, the drama, the scripture memory, the speaking, the music, everything! When my kids leave at the end of the week they get the point.

Everything I have ever learned about youth camp has come from Roger Glidewell, Global’s founder. His focus isn’t to be the next biggest youth camp or youth ministry in America. The focus is to raise the next generation of leaders among youth so that they can go and make more disciples of Jesus Christ. That is what it is all about. Global is doing everything possible to accomplish this task and I am thankful and blessed to connect with them for the Kingdom.
