Hey ladies! I wanted to give you gals a little "heads up" on the direction I am heading in this blog content. As I'm sure you already know (if you've checked out our website) that I am a youth pastor's wifey. So, with this comes the great privilege of getting to pour into the girls in our student ministry. I say "privilege" because I consider it just that. Being believers, we have a unique honor in telling others about Jesus. We are told in 1 Timothy 1:11 that we have been "entrusted with the gospel". As some would say down here in Georgia, "them's big words"- and they really are! God could have easily asked us to go and share the gospel, or even begged us for all mankind that we tell others of Jesus. But, the fact that he used the word "entrusted" shows us that this is a precious gift that we have been given-not that we have not -it has been given! We need to remember that this gospel that is being lived out in our lives a privilege!! Saying all that, I love my life and I love what I get to do to share my faith and my love for the Lord. Am I talking about being in Casting Crowns? Well, yes and no. I am honored to be a part of such an amazing ministry that touches people all around the world, but what I am talking about specifically is loving people like Jesus would and going and "making disciples of all nations" [Matthew 28:19]. I love being a Christian, a believer, a Jesus follower, a Christ enthusiast...whatever you want to call me! I love teaching people about Jesus and instilling truth into their faith that will be lived out in their lives. I especially have a heart for young girls, and this is where this blog comes in! I will be doing little bible studies on here geared towards 6th to 12th grade girls (this doesn't mean younger or older girls can't learn from it too). We will be discussing what beauty is and how God sees us and what the bible tells us about being His daughters- His princesses!

I am entrusted with a beautiful niece who lives in my home. we have very different views regarding clothing. She has not grasped that her body has changed and it needs to be clothed differently than before. Any suggestions on how to get the message across? We are able to have open discussions I just am not able to help her understand that her life has entered a new chapter.
What a need there is to talk about this! I do a woman's ministry and annual conference. Our theme this year is Sleeping Beauty? and we are focusing on the fact that we are truly daughters of the King and trying to wake women up to all God has for them and help them (and us) get past the lies we believe about ourselves.
I have been teaching Sunday School for several years now and still don't feel qualified to teach these young girls. Thank you for your blog and I will look forward to future ones. It is so hard to instill in young girls that they do not have to "give themselves away" in order to be loved.
I just want to say thanks for the blog on girls. I am a Bible School teacher and I have taught all ages, but I have a soft place for teens...Girls and Boys and your blog is something additional for the girls. The Casting Crowns music is a fav of the teens and the subject matter of your songs often has made class discussions when accompanied with scripture...all of you are doing wonderful work...

Our church is wanting to do a speaker or something for young girls, how God sees the beautiful person inside and how they dress affects how "boys"/young men see them. We have such trouble with girls dresses older then their age plus giving off the wrong message. Any help would be most welcome. We are planning on inviting quite a few churches to come.
Thanks
P.S loved your concert in dayton, ohio in april. was awesome!!!
Dear Megan- Thank you for all the work you do with Casting Crowns. It means so much to have your music in our lives. My friend and I are young musicians, and hope to spread the word of God through music one day too. I'm working on learning your music for piano. I have the introduction down to "I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day". I love learning your music. Thank you for your beautiful music and concerts. It means so much to us, thank you so much.
Hi,
I have always dreamed of knowing how to play piano..I used to do when i was a kid because someone from our church do piano lessons but he moved and our community officed moved so we weren't able to continue that. I have been invited but I want to have my own piano first so I can have home lessons due to my work schedule. We just purchased your last album, altar and the door and I saw you play. It's nice to know how to play the instrument at the same time praising God and inspiring a lot of people. Wow, that is perfect. I pray to God that He will grant me opportunity to serve Him through music.
My prayers are with you all. Keep up your generosity by your time and talent!

I wanted to thank you SO much, Megan. I have played the piano since i was 7 (i am almost 15 now) and I was about ready to quit last year because i hadn't had much time to play, and I didn't make much time either. But when i listened closer to your piano playing, it inspired me to keep playing. I am still taking lessons and am learning more hymns to play for church... thank you for keeping me in piano playing. :) You truly are all a Godly band, glorifying God and not yourselves. You all are my heroes, and I just want to thank you with all my heart for what you are all doing! THANK you!
God bless!

Hi Megan,
Thanks for being so faithful to God and his ministry. I am only a high school student, but God has already called me to Pastor. It makes me nervous to think that I will be looked up to in the future, when now I have to look to other people. I am looking forward to your concert in Charleston and I hope that the ministry to your songs help me through some of the big storms that I am going through.
Gabi.
Girls our ages often don't get really taught about God. Sure, youth group, our families- never really deep, though. With somebody like you though, who has tons of firsthand experience, we, meaning all girls reading your blog series, can learn for real. I knew when I read the first line of your post that God was speaking to me. I've been praying for something like this. Thank you very much, Megan!
Megan, It was a pleasure to meet you in Greensboro. I am excited about your blog. I teach the youth sunday school class in a small church. We have one student... a young lady, so your blog will probably be very relevant in our study. Thank you for all you do in Jesus' name!
Megan :-)

I am looking forward to reading your messages. I am involved with youth ministry and disciple a couple girls right now. It is so rewarding and it IS a privilege.
I just want to let you know y'all have really changed my life with your music! I was a cutter and on the verge of suicide when a friend introduced me to your songs. My favorite is "Does anybody hear her" and "praise you in this storm". I love you guys keep up the awesome work and hope to see you in concert one of these finer days!!
I love your music!! I trying to get tickets to ur Creation Feast! Im planning to bring alot of people.
am happy to meet u. will really luv to learn 4rm u. tanks 4 nt leaving us out(am 23).
Megan, Thank you so much for your Blog for Teen Girls. Our small church has had princess teas in the past and we want to start them again for younger girls but I have a passion for the Jr High & High School age group who are falling away from the faith for various reasons or don't understand who they are in Christ. I love your break down of 1Tim 4:12 in Reputing Reputation 1 & 2!
One commenter asked about teen dress issues, I found a book that I really enjoy and am going to use with our church - "WHY WEAR THOSE HOOCHIE MOMA DRESSES? WHATS YOUR STYLE - ROYALTY OR RISQUE?" by Martha Cahoon. It is bibically based and humorous so teens & parents can both appriciate it.
Thank you for your ministry and for sharing it with so many. I am praying for your latest tour and hope to catch you at one of your Indiana Concerts.
Your Sister in Christ, Ellie Smith
