Galatians is the main basis for this song. False teachers were slipping in and adding to the Gospel. Jesus + being good = the believer’s life. Paul builds in a foundation for the Galatian people that it is by faith in Jesus that we are saved. Even today, we, the church, are in danger of adding to the Gospel. Jesus plus my denomination. Jesus plus our style of worship. Jesus plus good behavior. We must be careful not to strap ourselves to the Gospel.

What this world needs is not another one hit wonder with an axe to grind
Another two bit politician peddling lies
Another three ring circus society
What this world needs is not another sign waving super saint that’s better than you
Another ear pleasing candy man afraid of the truth
Another prophet in an Armani suit
What this world needs is a Savior who will rescue
A Spirit who will lead
A Father who will love them in their time of need
A Savior who will rescue
A Spirit who will lead
A Father who will love
That’s what this world needs
What this world needs is for us to care more about the inside than the outside
Have we become so blind that we can’t see
God’s gotta change her heart before He changes her shirt
What this world needs is for us to stop hiding behind our relevance
Blending in so well that people can’t see the difference
And it’s the difference that sets the world free
Jesus is our Savior, that’s what this world needs
Father’s arms around you, that’s what this world needs
That’s what this world needs

Can you explain the monologue near the end of "What This World Needs", specifically the phrases: "Jesus is the only way to God but we are not the only way to Jesus", and "this world doesn't need my translation of the Bible", and "we can be passionate about what we believe but we can't strap ourselves to the gospel", and "Jesus is going to save the world, but maybe the best thing we can do is just get out of the way".
This last phrase could be construed to mean everyone will be saved, is this what you mean?
Jesus tells us in scripture that He is the way the truth and the life. As I look around at Christianity in America one thing I notice is we are are all about the method and less about the principles. We come up with programs and other various methods of teaching Gods word and then we begin to promote that method and attack those who do not employ it. We promote this translation of the Bible over another. I can't speak for the band Casting Crowns but what I get out of that monologue is we need to take a step back and follow Christ instead of promoting our method and expecting Him to bless and support us. We should stop acting like God exists for us, and start living like we exist for God.
I agree. Focusing too much on the method takes away the power of the fellowship that Christ wants us to have with non-believers. Christianity is not about following a set of rules. Christ spoke out against the Pharisees Himself about how their rules were preventing people from being "righteous" in that time. The Pharisees were so wrapped up in the methods and logistics of how the synagogue sermons were to be held, how food should be prepared and eaten, etc., that they forgot to truly honor God. God needs to be shown the glory, not us. So yes, sometimes, the best thing we can do is do what God told us to do then get out of the way.
