If there ever were a test of our faith - if there ever were a test of the motives of our worship - it is when a storm rolls into our lives. We watched and prayed for a precious little girl named Erin Edwards struggle with a deadly disease for several years. The courage, the witness, and the worship of Erin's mother Laurie inspired this song. Sometimes God calms our storms. Sometimes He chooses to ride them with us.
Romans 8:28 / 2 Corinthians. 4:16-18
Psalm 42:5 / Psalm 121:1-2
Job 1:20-21 / Daniel 3:16-18
Written by Mark Hall / Music by Mark Hall and Bernie Herms
I was sure by now
God, You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with You"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with You"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth
(repeat)
I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
Though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

As Charlie Sheen says, this aritlce is WINNING!
About 4 years ago,my son & his wife found out they were pregnant & they were sooo excited. They already had a 3 year old girl & were praying for a sibling for her for some time.On a visit to her doctor, they were informed that they were going to have a boy,but there was a problem. The baby had a neural tube defect called anencephaly. The baby had begun to develop without the front lobes of the brain & would prbly die in the womb or shortly after delivery. They were told they should terminate the preganancy, but they already knew that God intended for this baby to be born.Isaac Matthew Rounds was born on July 11,2008,and lived for 11 amazing hours.Your song "Praise You in This Storm" truly ministered to me & my son during this time.I know God feels our heartbreak & sees our tears. That song was my 'go to' when I felt I couldn't get through the pain. Just wanted you to know that I thank God for your willingness to share the talent that he surely has blessed you with.May you continue to seek him in your journey through this life. God bless you all!!I hope to see you in concert one day & thank you personally, face to face.

My 6 months daughter passed away 5 weeks away. She had a sudden bug and passed away 18 hrs later. It was a sudden shock and as a Pastor, I understand the Spiritual aspect, but the Human emotions are battling with this. My wife and I have drawn strength from this song so often. We listen to it in the morning on our way to work and it has been a real inspiration to us. Thank you and God bless
Last Saturday we went to the Texas Rangers game and to our surprise Casting Crowns had a pre-game concert. It was such a blessing praising the lord with you before a baseball game.
NICE one
this song means so much to me and encourages me to pray for others who are going through a depth of loss that i cannot comprehend. God uses your lyrics to encourage those in a very dark place to hold on and to encourage his children to pray for those in that dark place. Inspired by the Holy Spirit. Thank you.
