Last Thursday before we left Nanjing, we visited the place where Hope was
abandoned. She was left outside the emergency room of a children's hospital
when she was 2days old.
Today was our Appointment at the Civil Affairs Office. I was a little nervous about how Hope would do with us going back to the same place we were yesterday. I knew that there would be people there from the orphanage again, and I was afraid that it would upset her again.
Ok, let's talk about the violin a little before the videos start. I think playing the violin is one thing, but playing the violin in worship is something a little different. It took me a good bit of time to figure out what to do in a church worship setting.
Today was a very emotional day for all of us. When they handed Hope to us, she was sad, scared, tearful, and overwhelmed. That's actually a good sign though. We were not deterred. Her little cry was so sad and pitiful. We sang Jesus Loves Me to her and she calmed down.
Today we visited Maria's Big House of Hope (MBHOH). It is a 7story bldg in Luoyang. I twittered a picture of it earlier today(while you were prob sleeping). Its is painted sky blue w/clouds all over it.
Its been a good trip so far. We have landed in Luoyang and are headed to Maria's Big House of Hope. Traveling with MaryBeth Chapman and her daughter Emily and Emily's husband, Tanner, and a friend, David Trask.
Tomorrow we go to Nanjing and on Monday we meet Hope. Yay! Can't wait!
I'm so excited about going to China that i could just pop. However, there is much to do! The Tour wrapped up this weekend. And what an awesome tour it was. What an honor to get to travel the country encouraging Believers and sharing the Gospel with those who don't know Christ yet! God did so
This is the third entry in my new series Youth Pastor to Youth Pastor. In it I talk a little bit about relationships and what that means to your ministry.
